     It was on this day, March 19th, 1904ev that Crowley first performed the Invocation of Horus, with little success. The skeleton of the ritual was revealed by Ouarda, (which means Rose), on the 18th, which was also a Friday, sacred to Venus as is the Rose, her magickal title for the operation.  
     It is this Path of divine Love (Agape) that joins the Supernal dyad, and in their Unity is the Crowned and Conquering Child realized and thus born and is the Son behind the Sun.

     On March 18th, 1904, Ouarda the Seer did see Horus in the Boulak Museum in the Victorious City, proclaiming; "There, there he is!." Though her eyes could not make out the object in particular, upon approaching the cabinet, Crowley saw an Egyptian funerary Stele on which Horus was indeed painted. The catalog number was his own; 666.
     Ouarda, the Priestess and Chioa Khan (Crowley's name at the time) the Beast, even as these Paths join upon the Tree to form the Mark of the Beast.
     They had been marked as the talisman of the Aeon was found, and so the next step taken in the coming of the Equinox of the Gods, and leading to the reception of the Law of Thelema.

     It was on this date of March 17th, 1904 that Ouarda delivers the continuing message "its all about the child"  and "all Osiris." Crowley invokes Tehuti to clarify the events. He wrote a ritual called Liber Israfel and this refers to the Path of Judgement which he retitled, The Aeon. And this is the Path of Fire that leaves Hod, the sphere of the messenger or herald, and links to Malkuth, the Earth. Israfel is the archangel in the Koran that sounds their trumpet to signal the end of the world, or the apocalypse. And it is this that was shown on the Rider-Waite trump.
     It marks the end of the Aeon of Osiris and the Age of Pisces, and The Aeon marks the initiation of the Aeon of Horus and the Age of Aquarius. The Magus proclaims his Word or Logos and brings down Fire from Heaven. Let us not forget that in The Equinox of the Gods, chapter 6 is titled The Great Revelation. The Arising of the Beast 666. 9=2. The Grade of Magus. The Beast that rose up from the Great Sea of Binah to take his Grade (Revelation 13:1).

     This day, March 16th, in 1904, Crowley sought to show Rose the Sylphs, being the spirits of Air, through the ritual of The Bornless One. She didn't see them, but did receive inspiration in the message she gave to him; "They're waiting for you." 
     This is the first entry in The Equinox of the Gods under 'The Book of Results', and the first step that leads both the the advent of the Aeon of Horus, and the reception of The Book of the Law. A span of 26 days.
     Take a moment this day to draw deep this Breath that gives Life to the Law, and the first step in receiving the Law of Liberty.

The Greater Feast for The Beast.

I have been away for a time from this blog, seems rather fitting the last entry was for the birth of Aleister Crowley, and now it is a remembrance of this death, and passing into the "Great Here & Now", 65 years ago today. The period of Life's sentence and the wax seal that leaves the impression upon the hearts of all that one was close to. Forget not that this is a "Greater Feast", greater than for a birth into the world, is our celebration of an exiting from it; the single certainty of Life itself.

The Lesser Feast of the Beast.

It's October 12th, and 137 years ago, The Beast was born, and so today we celebrate the Feast of Aleister Crowley's birth. Personally I plan to go to the whisky convention and raise a glass (or 6) to our Prophet's manifestation upon the Earth.

On the Scourge of NIGREDO, and the Alchemical Path of the Practicus.

      Referring back to the image of My Nigredo, I would share some ideas on the role of the Scourge.

      The Scourge strikes our skin and we feel the pain of inhabiting this vehicle of flesh and blood and bone. It echos the Buddhist doctrine of Dukkha; the suffering of existence of life on Earth, or qabalistically; Malkuth. As this sphere is the first step of the Path, Dukkha is the 1st of the 4 Noble Truths, and for the Alchemical work, the first step is Saturnus, the Lord of Time and Limitation and thus the Sickle and the Hourglass are theirs, reminding us that all that is born into this world, will suffer and die in the bonds of Time.
      For those who still live in the Aeon of Osiris/Asar, the Suffering god, and live in its concepts of sin, guilt and morality, the longer they will beat themselves with this scourge and feels its pain and suffering, and even blame a Devil and its sulphurous breath for the evils and sins of the world we live in. They will await that great day of the fires Judgement and Resurrection, that they will be saved by their faith-in-hope of such a lie.
       For those whose Life has been consumed in the Fire of Thelema, and Liberty in its Law; have awakened to the Light Aeon of Horus/Oros. The Scourge's sting is now the Lash of ecstasy, and will thrill them with the Lust of the Light, to awaken, arise and puruse their Path even as a Child overcomes gravity, begins to stumble, to walk and to run!
      The Fires of Calcination have been kindled under the flask of the Practicus, even as the Fire of The Aeon, which are also the Plutonian fires that illumine that which is Hidden and Concealed; and this comes upon us even as Hades upon Persephone.
      And so the Penitent's Hood is as the Helm of Hades, the Hermit's hood that is black to the blind, seeing only suffering. But for those unto whom the Hoodwink of Initiation is removed shall reap the abounding Joy in Silence.
